One example is frozen water systems, which can be quite inconvenient and may require you to look for open campsites\u2014scarce during the winter season\u2014with heated facilities.<\/p>\n
Another major drawback is driving in snowy conditions.<\/p>\n
Alsace is a magical place during the Christmas holidays. It is one of the most fairy-tale-like destinations in Europe, both in winter and in summer.<\/p>\n
The fairy-tale villages and towns with their colourful houses are lit up with Christmas lights and decorations, all accompanied by the scent of cinnamon and spices in the air. Every village has its own Christmas market with wooden stalls, and the festive atmosphere can be felt on every corner.<\/p>\n

If you travel by motorhome, you can easily visit several villages and towns on a simple route. All the villages are close to one another, and almost all of them have motorhome parking areas. The only challenge is that it often snows, so you should be well prepared.<\/p>\n
In Colmar, you can visit one of France\u2019s oldest and most iconic Christmas markets, while in Strasbourg you can admire the famous \u201cCathedral of Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n
